2023 was a great event

Great ride had by all involved
The 19th running of this iconic event on 23 April 2022 was a resounding success with 275 participants in ideal conditions -- 21 degrees maximum with very light winds.
It was a grueling as usual but even the youngest rider at 12 years old road up to all six peaks.
Participants enjoyed and thanked us for the overall event including the route marking, food, marshals and BBQ at the finish.
It's on again next year -- provisionally on 21 April 2024.
To prevent clashing with the Canberra Marathon - still a the same great event

The profits from the 2021 event, held on 18 April 2021, have been distributed: The majority of the profits went to MyHome in Canberra, SleepBus in Canberra and Australian Rotary Health who received $5,000 each. Small amounts of $1,000 each were given to other worthy causes: Rotary Oceania Medical Aid for Children, Polio Plus, The Rotary Foundation, and Aurora Gungahlin Rotary Club for use in their 'good causes'.

This was the 17th successfully running of this classic event on 18 April 2021. It's been run each year since 2004 with the exception of last year when Covid got in the way. This year was a great day for riding - a cool start of about 6 degrees and then no more than 18 degrees during the day and, importantly, very little wind (4 to 15 km/h). There were 272 entrants (241 registered on-line and 31 did so at the start). Of those some 124 were first time rides in the event. Nearly all the riders road the six peaks - Stromlo, Red Hill, Mount Pleasant, Ainslie, Black Mountain and the Arboretum. The Club thanks all the volunteers who assisted with the event on the day including the Auroa Gungahlin Rotary Club members who set up and ran the two food stops that were appreciated by the riders. It will be on again next year on a date to be announced.
